One of my largest forums pretty much got cursed lol. The reason it died was essentially from that. I had a celebrity work as a Moderator and when she became mod it went to her head. I then demoted her, and DMed her explaining why (Had to warn her multiple times for not using her position to get what she wants as well as unjustly pruning peoples messages because it went against her views but didn't break rules). Because of that she started essentially a coo. Her all of her followers stopped posting, and started to BM the site in various ways and it declined the activity significantly. She started up her own site to compete with mine and after a few months of trying she eventually gave up and deleted the competing site came back apologized and became an active poster again. However after that, it turned into one drama filled thing after another with random members and someone would always join, stir up some sort of drama before being banned and eventually the site just died slowly over time before I finally just shut it down.

I've seen that happen a few times during when RP forums were a big thing.

Sadly my forum is just as cursed, I've gotten a lot of talented staff over the years (codes, skin makers, people who could do stuff to bring in activity), but whenever they started to do anything, they had to quit due to life problems, each and every one one of them.

@Xyphien your story about your previous website is a touching one. I'll say your celebrity Mod ruined it by feeling so presumptuous to drag your active members away first time. Even when she realized her mistakes it became late. I am hopeful this your current website won't face same fate of your previous one.

The celebrity mod also reminds me of this one guy from back of the day who could turn any forum popular with his following, but if he left the forum, so did his group of friends. Many wanted him until they saw the activity wash away as well.

That is crazy. It's like high school all over gain.

I am so sorry that happened. I hope you have better success with this one.
